"Flashing Lights" is an exploration of the idea of fame. In the song, Kanye reflects on how fame and wealth has changed his life and the lives of those close to him. He expresses both the positive and negative aspects of fame, from the freedom and excitement of living like a celebrity, to the loneliness of being recognized everywhere and never able to escape it.
